Yes, people are insane for vinyl. I see copies of MAVS's 88:88 going for nearly 400 Aud (about 240 Euro) I really want an OG pressing, but not that much.

Re: Why I love synth/retrowave
makes things worse when you know people selling are just scalpers preying on collectors. if someone really needed money that much as to sell important memorabilia, they'd want fast money and wouldn't treat it lije an auction

I have that as well. I probably should be doing the same thing.nagoline wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 7:58 amthat made me curious about stuff i have and is still sealed physical component from nin's not the actual events is at 100€ on ebay o.o do people really give that much money for a bunch of "artwork" without the audio that was like 10€ when it came out? if it jumps up 10x again in the next 5 years i may just sell it and make a fortune

Scalpers have been going nuts since corona. I don't know where people are getting the money from, but apparently collectables is the new stonks.

Of course the war with the machines rages on and there are orbital military light shows to hack.

Re: Why I love synth/retrowave
nailed it we should make one of those old school adventure games that's mostly text, a bare user interface and a few pixels of art to inadequately render the scene.

Re: Why I love synth/retrowave
that would be rad. choose your own adventure style and program dice in there to roll stats and stuff for character too

Re: Why I love synth/retrowave
the stuff the 80s were made of. I suppose to keep in line with the retro wave thing it would have to be somewhat streamlined and take advantage of new technologies, just with the aesthetic trappings of the times, an extra helping of ham, and lash it together with delightfully absurd anachronisms.

John Carpenter was such a weird treasure RIP old man <3
I need to see this also very fitting given the previous Carpenter ref.
