hadn't heard the original before, tho they sound practically the same to me which is sorta lame. joy division's has some quirkier instrumentation that i prefer, but as blasphemous as it may sound ian curtis' vocals for the song leave me cold. but so do jeff martin's. basically they both stink imo.
i friggin love transmission by the tea party, tho.

It's not meant to be a heartwarming song tho, you blasphemous... blasphemour. That said I'm all about the Joy Division and I forgot how to enjoy Tea Party.

Deftone's cover of Duran Duran's The Chauffeur. Hardly a new cover, but I hadn't heard it till recently. In my opinion it can't compete with the original, which as far as I've heard, was the bands only real song of note. Never the less, it is still an interesting cover. The video clip of the original was amazing too.

the sounds are very different. duran duran going for something poppy with a dark undertone, while the deftones lay that early 2000s doomy grunge on thick & i dig it. must be the mallgoth in me. idk i like both
the original vid has given me new appreciation for lingerie, tho

Yes, they are both totally different, and I do like both. That's what makes a good cover for me, taking something and making it different. I am a sucker for 80s synth pop though.
