FCUK THE MAINSTREAM

This song has always stood out to me. I know it's totally about drug use, but I still am stubborn and have my own interpretation of it.


I think it's about living with mental illness. The "best friend" could be the illness. I see the mental illness being Bi Polar disorder, and the song is describing a manic episode.




But enough of that. What songs do you think are interesting to interpret/ analyze the lyrics of, and why?

I also like this song. It's Russian, but the title translates into "Stop, Stop, Stop". The lyrics, the imagery, it's beautiful. I always appreciated this song, because of its references to different psychological theories.

I haven't done any lyrical analysis in a long time. Music has nourished my ears and not my mind.

Once I posted my interpretation of a song I liked on the VF industrial forum, and the artist (Panic Lift I think?) cropped up out of the blue to correct me*

that's why i like to make absurd music. just so it can mean whatever people want it to mean. i really enjoy knowing about all the different interpretations
