Another memory. First of few renders I did with Poser. I was obsessed with 3D software. I bought into Poser because it had a nice global illumination engine, something that was undeveloped in the other software I was using at the time. Not long after this I bought Lightwave, probably the reason I didn't get much use out of Poser, that and I was already comfortable with DAZ Studio, it's younger rival.
One of the earliest renders I did with LW. October 2012
I was playing around with volumetric (fog) and depth of field. I clearly did not understand the sampling controls, which resulted in blotchy doff effect.
MINE TOO. Like now that I finally built a new rig perfect for rendering I think it's time I got back to studying Javascript and I should probably cut back on cycling so I can better arrange work and study. And I already gave up drinking

I have decided I will upload one of my old renders every day until I forget about it. I stopped posting stuff on FB at the end of 2012, so that misses a huge chunk of what I was working on. Most will be shit I did while experimenting, but that's what I always liked most about 3D arts.
One of the first tests I did with dispersive surfaces (those that split light into coloured bands) in Iray
Simple geometry. Simple lights. January 2017. I was working on making interesting little things to add to scenes while I was experimenting with different surfaces and lights.
When you stop to ponder the big things instead of marching in the army of the damned. April 2017. Was the first time I'd lit a scene using hand painted HDR light sources.
