both trent and atticus are promoting their score of a disney movie...i get it, you have a fuckton of kids you have to feed, but what happened to "labels suck, let's leak all our multitracks for our fans to do as they please and go independent as musicians"?
is this another attempt at an oscar because disney owns everything nowadays? you already have one, man, and the oscars are a shitshow anyways

TBH as a 3D nerd I like Pixar movies. And I like Tron I suppose Reznor and Atticus both have a lot of freedom in how they create and interact with these big companies, so they don't have to compromise as much as lesser artists. It's not the first time Trent has worked with big evil though.

and yeah, i know nick cave and warren ellis do soundtracks for movies too (warner bros comes to mind) but they're the coolest rockstars around, so i don't worry about those two. no one can tame them

it doesn't really shock me, it's business that makes them money and not all of them are sell outs...but yeah, it's meh...i mixed live shows for some big portuguese names, i didn't have to like them, i just needed to do my best to respect the crowd. maybe i should be a sell out too

they did, and they were nominated for best soundtrack for 2 different movies. didn't even know you could be nominated for the same category twice. wouldn't surprise me if they nominated the movies without checking who's doing what. oscars is a shitshow and the oscar was for the disney movie instead of the david fincher one

i didn't like that song very much. sticks too much to a single formula and doesn't offer something new, just recycling the same thing with an awesome production value trademarketed by reznor (even though alan moulder should get more praise, he mixed the golden era of nin and trent just took that style of sound and kept it). it's very good, just not exciting

sounds like a portuguese fest. "let's throw a bunch of artists of different genres into a stage to bring in as many people as possible". no one likes to pay for a fest ticket just to wait hours in agony to see only one band and leave.
