i took a year of aeronautic engineering and maintenance and never had one of those fancy calculators, bloody things were so expensive. meanwhile my sister goes to regular highschool with the lazy version of math and gets one

I got mine in high school. Kind of tricky doing integrals and stuff without one.

Re: Inktober
yeah, i remember some formulas taking almost a full page. so many greek letters and the professor wanted us to remember them all. people with those fancy things could just put them into the calculators database and half the job was done even if it was "cheating".

For today's I was thinking Hawking, or maybe Katherine Johnson... I wanted to do like a math/physics icon. But my mind kept bringing up Marilyn Monroe over and over again, so I just went with it.
I ended up really loving this one.

She is also quite iconic!

Wasn't sure how to draw a sound. Quite the challenge.
I just kept picturing roaring animals in my head, so I went for it.
I'm curious what you guys think of visually when you think of "sounds"?

Oh my goodness!
I don't like being asked to draw specific things, especially strange things. Whenever we had to do something like that in school I just scratched down some shit just to get it over with. Right now my mind is telling me that if someone asked me to draw sound I'd fart on the paper and hand it over to them.
Don't mind me I just woke up

so much ink. You're doing it!
I live the tiger. I'm not sure about sound. I'd probably do something with shiny steel strings and try to imply vibration.

Re: Inktober
Please ignore the first two because I really wasn't feeling the prompts those days. How do you draw a hidden talent? I just drew my spine xray and it doesn't look very interesting as a drawing.
For bibliomancy I wanted to draw a fairy reading on a stack of books, but it turns out I really suck at drawing from my imagination. You can definitely tell which ones of these challenge I drew from my own head and which ones I used a reference for.
I'm quite proud of the butterfly, it took absolutely forever.
For "craggy" I tried to draw some Irish cliffs.

Re: Inktober
Always use references. That's my philosophy. I really like the butterfly, and the headlands turned out well. I don't really know what craggy is, but I can picture the landscape you drew as it would look in RL, and seem pretty accurate. I like your sig
